In the spring of 2025, all the UX directors at Vend took a step back to look at where we are as a design organisation and where we want to grow. We ran a UX maturity assessment across our different areas, and from that, started to see the bigger picture of what would really lift both our craft and the company. At the same time, we looked at the development goals from every designer across Vend. It turned out that many of us wanted to learn the same kinds of things. For me, it’s about recognising that we all go through ups and downs, and that we all experience the world differently. Mental health and wellbeing means making space for those differences - whether that’s diverse personalities, neurodiversities, or individual needs - and allowing for accommodations, both for ourselves and for each other.
