We’ve built our hiring process to be fast, thoughtful, and grounded. Every step has a purpose: to help you show your best and to help us make great, inclusive hiring decisions.

Here you will find a typical hiring process, step by step. It might look a little different depending on the role, but this should give you a clear idea of what to expect and how to show up feeling prepped and confident.

Our hiring principles

Fast but thorough
We move quickly, because great talent doesn’t stay on the market for long. But speed never comes at the cost of quality.

Structured over unstructured
We mostly use structured interviews because research shows they’re better at predicting success in the role and they reduce bias. Fairer, clearer, more effective.

Quality over quantity
We keep it lean. Most of our processes stay within 3 interview steps. Anything more tends to slow things down without adding value.

Backed by science
Our approach reflects proven hiring practices, grounded in research. It’s not guesswork, it’s what actually works.

Tailored, not templated
Every role is different, so we tailor each step to focus on what really matters: your skills, mindset, and potential to thrive at Vend.

What to expect

While each role is a little different, here’s what our typical hiring process looks like:

Apply
Our application process is quick and straightforward. No need to create an account just upload required information in Jobylon (our Applicant tracking system), and you’re good to go in just a few minutes.

First contact
If your profile looks like a good match, you’ll usually hear from one of our Talent Acquisition partners, your go-to person throughout the process. They’ll keep you in the loop and let you know who you’ll be meeting next.

Interviews
Next up: conversations with the people you’d be working with, like the hiring manager or other team members. Depending on the role, you can expect one to three interviews.

Task or assessment
Some roles include tasks, cases, short assessments or psychometric tests, to get a better feel for how you approach challenges.

References and background check
Toward the end of the process, we’ll ask for references to get a fuller picture of your experience.

Offer
If it’s a match on both sides, we’ll send you an offer with all the details on the role, salary, and perks. For roles in Sweden, we will run a standard background check before sending the contract.

How to prep for your interview

A little prep goes a long way. Here’s how to get ready for your conversations with us:

Get to know us
Take a few minutes to explore what Vend’s all about. Our mission, our products, and the people we serve. The more you understand what drives us, the easier it is to connect your story to our goals.

Reflect on your experience
Think about the projects, challenges, or wins you’re most proud of. Be ready to talk through what you did, how you approached it, and what you learned along the way.

Expect a mix of conversations
You’ll chat with a few people from across Vend. Some interviews will focus on your skills and problem-solving, others on how you work with people and live our values: Unite, Dare, and Deliver.

Bring your questions
Interviews are a two-way thing. Come curious. Ask us about our culture, team setup, or how we make decisions. We want you to get a real sense of what it's like to work here.

Be yourself
We’re not looking for perfection. We’re looking for real. Show us how you think, what you care about, and how you work with others. Different perspectives make us stronger, and we value authenticity in every conversation.
