At Vend, security is everyone’s responsibility, not just a team or a policy, but a shared mindset. As threats evolve and technology moves fast, we believe that creating a strong security culture starts with awareness, openness, and collaboration.

That’s why this October, we launched our very first Vend Security Month: a company-wide initiative to empower employees with the knowledge, tools, and mindset to make smarter, more secure decisions.

“A strong security culture is built on awareness, accountability, and trust,” says Kimmy Nordqvist, Vend’s Chief Information Security Officer. “It’s not about fear or rules, it’s about shared ownership. When people understand why something matters, they care more and act smarter and more intentionally. My goal is to make security feel empowering, something that enables confidence rather than constraint.”

What the month looked like

Vend Security Month ran from October 7–31, featuring a mix of live keynotes, expert guest speakers, recorded webinars, and weekly Kahoot! quizzes designed to balance serious insights with interactive learning.

From Kraków to Copenhagen, employees tuned in, joined office watch parties, and sparked cross-team conversations about everything from password hygiene to AI risk.

The cross-market energy and turnout showed that security isn’t a niche topic, it's something that resonates across roles, locations, and levels.

What’s next?

Security Month was just the beginning. We’re committed to continually evolving our program, staying ahead of emerging threats, and keeping security at the heart of how we work.
