Security at Vend is a shared responsibility, and this October, our teams came together for our first-ever Vend Security Month to strengthen awareness and collaboration across the company.

In the spring of 2025, all the UX directors at Vend took a step back to look at where we are as a design organisation and where we want to grow. We ran a UX maturity assessment across our different areas, and from that, started to see the bigger picture of what would really lift both our craft and the company. At the same time, we looked at the development goals from every designer across Vend. It turned out that many of us wanted to learn the same kinds of things. So instead of everyone learning alone, we thought, what if we do this together?

We sat down with Cansu Kilit, Senior Product Enablement Manager, to talk about the Product Development Playbook: seven guiding principles shaped by 40+ conversations across teams. From “Think big, start real” to “Create value together,” it’s designed to help us focus on what matters most.

We continue to hear how much mental health and wellbeing matter, both in life and at work. Andrea Björnstjerna, one of our People & Culture Manager and a mother of two, shares her perspective on what balance means, how small adjustments can make a big difference, and why daring to ask the difficult questions is one of the most powerful ways to show care.

We caught up with two former interns, Vilde and Ruben, to hear about their time as summer students, and how those early experiences shaped their careers. From shipping real features to learning the power of asking for help, their stories show just how impactful an internship can be.

This week, Vend launched its first-ever Security Month, a company-wide initiative designed to put cybersecurity where it belongs: at the centre of how we work, think, and build trust.

For me, it’s about recognising that we all go through ups and downs, and that we all experience the world differently. Mental health and wellbeing means making space for those differences - whether that’s diverse personalities, neurodiversities, or individual needs - and allowing for accommodations, both for ourselves and for each other.

At Vend, we believe the best ideas often come from those closest to the work, and that with the right tools, anyone can turn smart ideas into impactful solutions. That’s the spirit behind Bob the Builder, a brand-new program that empowers employees to tackle real business challenges using AI, low-code tools, and a whole lot of curiosity.

This year, we took a leap. Javazone 2025 wasn’t just another tech conference; it was the very first time Vend showed up on Norway’s tech stage. And honestly? It was equal parts thrilling and nerve-wracking.

For many at Vend, Pride Day wasn’t just a one-off. It reflected something deeper about how we show up for one another, every day.
