Ruben Søgaard to leave Vend
Vend announces that Ruben Søgaard, EVP Marketing & Sales, will leave the company after nine years. A process to appoint a permanent successor is ongoing. In the meantime, Eddie Sjølie, EVP Jobs, will step in as an interim solution.
“Ruben has made important contributions across Schibsted, FINN and Vend, including building a strong sales organisation, developing our pro-customer offering and playing a key role in the separation from Schibsted Media and the successful start of Vend. Beyond his results, I have greatly appreciated his commercial drive, his clear voice for the customer, and the energy and perspective he has brought to our leadership team. I want to thank him for his efforts and wish him all the best for the future,” says CEO Christian Printzell Halvorsen.
Ruben Søgaard joined FINN in 2016, later taking on a Nordic role for Sales, Advertising and adjacent products, and representing Marketplaces within Schibsted Marketing Services (SMS).
Reflecting on the change, Ruben Søgaard says:
“It has been a privilege to be part of Schibsted, FINN and Vend over the past nine years, through immense changes in our company, our business environment, and the competitive landscape. I joined what was then a Norwegian classifieds company, and I now leave a Nordic marketplaces powerhouse. I’m proud of the journey we’ve taken together - from building a stronger, more data-driven sales organisation to guiding Vend through the separation from Media and into a new chapter. While this is where our paths part, I have nothing but support for the direction Vend is heading and look forward to following its continued growth,” says Ruben Søgaard.
The next stage of growth calls for an even stronger focus on data-driven growth marketing. To lead this transformation, the company is looking for someone with a strong e-commerce mindset in marketing. This new profile will play a central role in creating even smarter, more timely ways for Vend to connect with users.
The external recruitment process is already underway, but in the meantime, Eddie Sjølie, EVP Jobs, will step in as an interim solution. In addition to his current role as EVP Jobs, Eddie brings strong experience from across Schibsted and FINN, having previously served as SVP Sales, SVP Strategy, and CEO of FINN.
