From support specialist to AI builder
When Geir Borch joined Vend’s Builder program, he had one clear goal: learn more about AI and automation while exploring an idea he already had in mind. Today, that idea has become an AI-powered Slackbot helping teams and coworkers find information faster and reducing the number of questions landing in his inbox.

As an Integrations specialist in the Jobs vertical, Geir works with support and integration setup for external systems and companies posting ads to FINN. He also supports the FINN ads API and solutions for fetching ad data for use on homepages and simulators.
His motivation for joining the Builder program was grounded in both curiosity and direct need.
“My motivation to join the builder program was to learn more about AI and automated systems,” he says. “Also, I had an idea I wanted to do.”
At the time, his experience with automation and AI was mostly hands-on experimentation.
“My starting point was that I had vibe-coded a bit, both privately and at work.”
Building an AI assistant for everyday support
That experimentation eventually led to the development of the Jobs AI assistant Slackbot: a tool he describes as the project he is most proud of from the program.
The Slackbot can answer a wide range of questions related to FINN Jobs, including information about ads, business customers, external systems, invoices, and Zendesk cases. By gathering information from multiple sources into one interface, it helps teams quickly find the information they need without relying on manual support.
“This makes it more efficient for sales, coordinators, and others to quickly find the data they need without having to ask me so often,” Borch says.
The impact has also been noticeable in his own day-to-day work. Instead of spending time answering repetitive questions or navigating several systems to find information, Borch now has quicker access to the same data himself.
“I am getting fewer questions, and I can also easily find info without opening and looking into different systems.”
Making AI accessible beyond developers
Looking ahead, Borch believes organisations need to make learning and experimentation with AI more accessible to employees across all functions, not just developers.
“I think the builder program is really important and also more show and tell from employees to show what is possible without being a developer,” he says. “Also, getting access to Replit, LLMs, and other AI tools is great.”
